The truth was no lost foe to Fenrir, neither rarely seen finch to weave amongst cloud and field until it had all lucky enough to lay eyes upon it enraptured with it’s beauty nor glittering treasure to be fostered in the hearts of greedy men, but so plain and ungilded an admittance did not sit well with him. It scoured upon the wolf’s tongue, as though he had brought low a beast with his teeth in it’s throat yet had only been met with stranded copper in place of veins and wire wool in the place of blood and flesh, sitting low in his heart and dragging cold claws along it, rankling the beast and seeing faint disgust curl his lip.
He knew not who this human thought he was, but none had ever truly spoken to the Fenris Wolf in such a manner and lived to tell the tale.
❛So, you’re expectin’ me to be all buddy-buddy and share like a kid bouncin’ around the playground, but you ain’t gonna do the same in return? You’ve got the wrong wolf for that, Blue — why don’tcha run on back to the rest of the Famous Five and keep on truckin’? I’m sure they’ve saved some lashings of ginger beer for you.
Yeah, I’m callin’ bullshit. You don’t know shit ‘bout me or what I’m capable of doin’.❜
❛Truthfully, I already know quite a bit about you.❜
Unlike what the other seems to think, this ’detective obvious’ was much more clever than he happened to anticipate. In fact, if it was not an elaborate lie, or a sign of insanity, then he already knew the other’s name as well as at least part of his story. He may not actively study into culture, myths, legends, and the like, but over time these are the sorts of facts you simply PICK UP like a common cold. There were plenty of hints hidden around the other’s words, and actions, that had lead him directly to the truth – or at least the apparent truth. Either way, the other believed himself to be this person. THAT was the truth.
❛Judging by the information you have provided me with, I can draw a somewhat accurate conclusion. First with your comment that separated you from humanity ; it led me astray a little and I was inclined to pass it off as NOTHING, however, the second indication was your use of the name ’Freyja’. I know that Freyja is, of course, a name used on Earth, but I also know that she is in fact a goddess of Norse Mythology. In this I gather you know her. So, running on the assumption that you believe yourself to be a God, your use of the word ‘wolf’ in your latest comment, leads me to believe that your name is (or at the very least, your assumed identity to be) … Fenrir.
